Crane Electronics: TMFS
The series of torque measuring flange’s that we provide are based on the standard ‘strain gauge’ principle. The units have an integral signal conditioner, which produce either analogue or digital outputs. These outputs are then transmitted through a non-contacting system.
There are no bearings between the rotor and stator and as such the unit is free from wear. The transducer has a very short flange to flange dimension and the rotor, being installed from one side, (normally the test specimen side) allows easy, cost effective assembly into a drive line.
TMFS torque measuring flange’s are very robust and largely insensitive to bending and transverse forces. Typical applications where the TMFS are used include engine test rigs, wheel load simulations and gear box test rigs.
